Covid-19 Updates

Monday, May 31, 2021 - Holding In Person Classes

IMG_9192.jpg

From the State website: "Effective May 8, 2021, the Universal Best Practices replaces all existing “Safer at Home 2.0” business operations guidance in place since March 2020. These Universal Best Practices are for all individuals, businesses, and organizations to consider."

As all mandates have now been lifted, we are now offering our regular classes in-person. And, although masks are no longer required, we encourage all of our members to do what is most comfortable for each individual.

Moving forward, we ask that you continue to maintain physical distancing while inside the gym and that we

respect each individuals choice when it comes to wearing a mask. We recommend wearing a mask and doing a temperature scan when you enter the gym. Please do what is right for you.

November 8, 2020 - Keeping Members Safe and Healthy

As we navigate through this pandemic, we want to assure everyone that we are on top of our game when it comes to the health and safety of our members. This is, and always has been, our number one priority.

That being said, we continue to meet or exceed the States guidelines for safe opening of our facility. Some of the things we currently have in place are:

  • Temperature screening at the door

  • Mandatory mask wearing when not working out*

  • Disinfecting of all equipment after every use

  • Reduced on-site class sizes to assure social distancing

  • Virtual options for most classes

Our goal is to provide you with an environment where you feel safe and are able to continue to maintain your physical and mental well being.

* masks are optional during your workout, it's personal preference - do what is right for your peace of mind.

Today, Governor Sununu announced revised guidelines for Health and Fitness facilities across the State. We will continue to follow these guidelines and take all precautions necessary to keep our members and staff safe and healthy.

In order to provide the most options and flexibility, most of our classes will be offered in-house with limited spots or virtually with unlimited spots. Please choose the option you are most comfortable with in the MindBody app.

Full details of these Phase 2 re-opening guidelines can be found here.

"We have all played a small part in flattening the curve and slowing the spread of COVID19. We all know you are healthier at home, and that continues to be true, but we are also taking steps to reopen our economy in a smart, step-by-step approach that is supported by facts, science and data."

-Governor Chris Sununu

The wait is finally over! We are very excited to be re-opening our doors! As we start phase 1 of re-opening we ask for your patience, kindness, and cooperation as we work through the new policies handed down by Governor Sununu.

Please keep in mind that these changes are temporary and fluid, and will be adjusted as restrictions are lifted. The health and safety of our gym tribe members is always our top priority!

Reservation information

Please reserve your workout time through the MindBody app. No walk ins will be allowed. At this time we are offering classes as listed in MindBody. All classes will be held outside where possible. During this phase there will be no "open gym" time.

Social Distancing

Please stay 6 feet apart. We are following strict social distancing in the gym and ask that you adhere to the designated signs and markers. During this phase we will be limiting class sizes. Keep this in mind when you make a reservation.

Masks

Masks will be required per State guidelines when entering the gym, but will optional during your workout. We can provide masks for you when you arrive.

Cleaning

We will be following all cleaning guidelines set by the CDC and State authorities. We have increased cleaning on all touch surfaces in the facility, but will need members to do their part. You will be responsible for wiping down everything before and after use.

Pre-screening

For members protection we are required to perform pre-screening checks for all of our staff and members. This will consist of a questionnaire and possible temperature check. If you are experiencing symptoms or not feeling well please stay at home.

Limited Facilities

Please come dressed and ready to work out as locker room use will be limited.

Group Fitness Classes

Due to capacity limitations we will be offering limited classes in the main gym/training area.  We are excited to be offering outdoor classes (such as bootcamp, yoga, cardio, and circuit) at the Gym and live streaming classes via MindBody and Zoom.

Membership Billing  information

As a reminder, April and May were unlimited and we are going to continue that through the month of June. Thank you for your continued support.

Thank you to the members who have donated to the gym for loaned equipment.

Guest Passes/Day Passes

To give priority to our members we will not be issuing day passes and guest passes.

Please assess your risk!

By choosing to come to The Downtown Gym you acknowledge and except the additional risk associated with COVID-19. If you or someone close to you is at higher risk please consider rejoining at a later date.

Monday, May 18, 2020 - MindBody Live Stream

We are now live with MINDBODY live streaming!

While our virtual classes using Zoom were getting us by, this new functionality developed by MINDBODY is a GAME CHANGER!

With MINDBODY live streaming, you simply sign up for the class you want as usual and, within 30 minutes of class, we'll automatically send the live stream link to everyone who signed up! The image to the right shows what the email will look like.

You must sign into your MINDBODY account in order to join the class, so please click this link to log in - many people have no idea what their password is - so do a test before your first class!

PLEASE NOTE: Once a class starts, you will be unable to join, so please plan on joining a few minutes early!

Friday, March 27, 2020

Governor Chris Sununu released Emergency Order #17, mandating the closure of all non-essential businesses and requiring Granite Staters to stay at home.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and under the guidance of public health officials and the requirements set forth by the State of New Hampshire, The Downtown Gym shut down effective Friday, March 27th at 11:59 pm. We will remain closed until further notice. We will be monitoring the situation closely to await a time where congregating in groups is no longer a threat to public health. We will reopen as soon as possible!

It is an uncertain time in all aspects of life. We are all feeling it but we are in this together. We're doing what we can to keep healthy and helpful during this time and will be offering virtual classes to all members immediately. All classes posted to MindBody will be held virtually using the Zoom meeting application in an effort to allow everyone to stay active at home.

Please be well, and take all precautions for yourself and your families. We will get through this together. The Downtown Gym, and all of our staff, look forward to a return to normalcy as we do our part flattening the curve.

If you have further questions please contact us at info@downtowngymlaconia.com. More updates will be posted via email, our website, and social media.

Stay active, healthy, and safe,

JP and The Downtown Gym Staff
